Thank you for stopping by and getting to know more about my company, my values, and my history. I was born in Queretaro Mexico and at an early age moved, along with my family, to Lepanto Arkansas. Like other immigrants before and after me, we moved for better opportunities. During the time we lived in Lepanto, my parents worked very hard in various labor jobs that included working in the rice and cotton fields, cotton gins, factories, and cleaning. As my sister, Ana, and I grew up, we joined our parents working in the rice and cotton fields during the summers. During the school years, our sole “job” as our mom would put it, was to go to school and have good grades. She wanted us to pursue a higher education and have the opportunities she did not have. Her goal was that we do something good with our lives. That goal became our goal.

In December 2005, we moved to Jonesboro. At that time my mom started working full-time in the cleaning industry-both residential and commercial buildings. Being in school I became involved in playing soccer, not leaving me much time to work part-time by myself but that did not stop me from helping my mom in hers. While working with her, I learned many of the skills necessary to perform all types of jobs in the janitorial industry, such as cleaning, and floor and carpet care and it sparked in me a dream to one day open my own company. Slowly but surely, my mom’s goal and dream were becoming a reality. My sister went to college to earn her Bachelors in Marketing with Management emphasis and graduating in 2012. After that she went on and earned a Master’s in Business Administration in 2016. I started my engineering degree as soon as I was back from basic training for the National Guard, where I am currently a Staff Sergeant. I completed my Bachelors of Engineering in 2015.

My mom’s perseverance and work ethic are what inspired me to start Swept Away. My goal was and will always be:
To create job opportunities and give back to the community that welcomed us with open arms
To create a great working environment where we listen to employees and help them achieve their goals while providing the best service we can give
To arm our employees with the training and tools they need
To treat our employees with the dignity and respect they deserve
To anticipate our clients needs
To be a community partner-when our community grows, we grow
To empower our youth-the next generation of leaders
